Ellen DeGeneres on SYTYCD

If you remember the post I posted last month about "Alex Wong && Twitch SYTYCD" then you'll understand why I posted this. Last night was the finale of Season 7 of SYTYCD. Alex was eliminated do to an injury sustaining a lacerated Achilles. He did however dance in the opening of the show's finale via a chair. There is no doubt that that NappyTabs(Napoleon & Tabitha D'umo) routine was the highlight of the season. Judge and Executive Producer Nigel Lythgoe released a statement saying Alex could come back next season if he feels up to it. Alex has high hopes of returning, and winning, Season 8.

In place of Alex was Ellen DeGeneres. Dancing with Season 4 contestant/all-star Twitch. Twitch was the runner-up to Season 4's winner Joshua. He has gone on to do movies like "Step Up 3D", and "Stomp The Yard 2" with plenty more on the way. Ellen, an obvious lover of dance, danced the routine with a few changes and adjustments. The quality was up to my standards, because it's ELLEN!!! The routine was the last of the night. As the judges always select their favorites throughtout the season, and they are performed on that season's finale. Right before the winner was announced. Season 7's winner is Lauren Froderman.

Beastly

"Beastly" is a new film set to release in March of 2011. It is a modern take on "Beauty & The Beast", but from the Beast's point of view. It stars an English actor Alex Pettyfer, as well as well known actors such as Vanessa Hudgens, Mary-Kate Olsen, and Neil Patrick Harris.

The film is about a guy Kyle Kingson(Alex Pettyfer) who is all about looks. He uses them to get what he wants, when he wants. Although his inner beauty isn't as beautiful as his outer beauty. He ends up being cursed by a witch Kendra(Mary-Kate Olsen), and doesn't turn into the beast we have all come to know from the Disney movie. More of a modern version with a new twist. He has a year to find someone to love him for who he is on the inside without looking like his former self for him to be turned back into his former self. He notices a girl he never noticed before Lindy(Vanessa Hudgens) who truly understands the meaning of real beauty.

Because of his new found change of appearance his Dad has looked him away in an apartment building with his maid Zola(Lisa Gay Hamilton), and his blind tutor(Neil Patrick Harris). Secluded from the world he has a lot of free time to think, and he misses all the things he once had, but never seemed to notice before. The little things.

The movie is based off a novel by Alex Finn with the same title "Beastly" although the book is quite different from the actual film. In the film he doesn't look as described in the book. For that matter neither does Lindy(Vanessa Hudgens), or Kendra(Mary-Kate Olsen). He had 2 years to find love instead of 1. Plus the series of events leading to him finding love seem obviously different.

All-in-all the film seems quite promising. As if a breath of fresh air from the Twilight Saga buzz. I think it's a great storyline, and quite the flick that will leave you thinking about true love, and true beauty.

MAKES SURE YOU GO SEE "BEASTLY" IN THEATERS MARCH 18TH 2011!!!!!
